TYPE OF FLAT GLASS

FLOAT GLASS
Created by floating molten glass on a bed of molten metal, the end product produces glass sheets of exceptional flatness and uniform thickness. Although used predominately for windows in domestic housing, it can also be used in the manufacture of solar panels and LCD screens, in addition to having applications in the automotive industry.

LAMINATED GLASS
Most commonly used in the automotive and architectural industries, laminated glass is recognised as safety glass. The sheets are created by bonding together pieces of heat-treated glass together. The inclusion of an inner layer of plastic between the glass sheets increases the products’ durability while preventing injury and mess should the sheet be broken.

SILVER & ANTIQUE MIRRORS
Creating stylish interior finishes for a fraction of the price of the antique originals, Amana Global produces a full range of silver and antique mirror glass. Toughened glass panels are the desired thickness are coloured and distressed to create the required effect and aesthetic without compromising on quality.

TABLE GLASS
Glass topped tables require specific attention due to the risk factor associated with these products. Using Amana Global’s selection of tempered and hardened glass produces clean, stylish finishes while ensuring the highest level of safety is provided in the case of accident or breakage.

TEMPERING SYSTEMS
Tempered glass is achieved by running glass sheets through a chemical and thermal process. The result is an extremely strong piece of toughened glass which fractures into relatively small, harmless pieces should it be broken. It is used in a variety of applications where safety is a concern, including home appliances, vehicle components, and architectural elements, such as doors.

SEALED INSULATED PANELS
Used for thermal insulation, Sealed Insulated Panels (also known as Double Glazed Panels) deliver superior energy conservation when compared to traditional glass. Used in both domestic and commercial building projects, along with a range of other applications, the panels are manufactured by sealing a layer of gas between two sheets of glass.
